Midnight Meteorites
This sample is among the highest-quality Imilac specimens I've encountered. It would be the centerpiece of most collections and is truly worthy of the museum-quality designation. This full slice is 334.18 grams and measures 19cm wide x 10.5cm tall x 3.5mm thick. It has been professionally stabilized, with a mirror polish on one side and acid etch on the opposing side, revealing the iron-nickel alloys. Many of the olivine crystals are transparent, as shown in the accompanying video. This listing is a rare opportunity to own one of the most pristine and visually interesting pallasite meteorites you'll ever see.
The Imilac meteorite is one of the world’s most famous pallasites, discovered in Chile’s Atacama Desert and officially recognized since 1822. Pallasites are rare stony-iron meteorites made of shimmering olivine crystals suspended within a nickel-iron metal matrix, and Imilac is especially prized because of its beautiful translucent yellow-green olivine. Scientists believe these meteorites formed deep inside early asteroids, likely near the boundary between the metallic core and rocky mantle of a differentiated parent body over 4.5 billion years ago.

--Pallasites--
Pallasites are a breathtaking type of stony-iron meteorite. They're famous for their olivine crystals suspended in an iron-nickel matrix, creating a stained-glass window effect when sliced thin. These cosmic gems are visually stunning and provide valuable insights into planetary core-mantle boundaries.
--Stony-Iron Meteorite--
Stony-iron meteorites are a rare and visually striking type of meteorite composed of roughly equal parts silicate minerals and metallic iron-nickel. They offer a unique glimpse into the boundary between the metal core and rocky mantle of ancient planetary bodies. The two main types—pallasites and mesosiderites—are prized by collectors and scientists for their beauty and scientific value.
